Dennis Janson: Ohio Valley Voices is helping deaf children to hear

It seems to me that too often residents of a city or region hang their civic pride on the success of their sports teams. Greater Cincinnati is not immune from this flux and flow of self-esteem but we should be the least inclined considering how much we having going for us beyond the Reds, Bengals, Bearcats and Musketeers.

Cincinnati’s park system is among the best in the nation. We boast a disproportionate number of world headquarters for a community our size and that is before we even touch on not just icons like Music Hall and the Museum Center but institutions that run the gamut from our Symphony Orchestra and Opera Company to Shriners Burns Hospital, to the Western and Southern Tennis Masters, to our world class Children’s Hospital Medical Center.
