ADMISSION PROCEDURES

 

To be considered for admission to Ohio Valley Voices, a child must exhibit the following characteristics:

  • Severe enough hearing impairment to require special education
  • Cognitive skills within the normal range
  • No other educationally significant handicapping condition in addition to hearing impairment which would impede the acquisition of  oral language
  • The ability to learn oral language to use as his/her primary mode of communication
  • A commitment from parents to help their child at home

All potential students are evaluated by Ohio Valley Voices staff.  This evaluative process helps us to determine if Ohio Valley Voices is an appropriate program for the child.  
Ohio Valley Vices has a predetermined number of students that can be accepted based upon age group and current staffing.  If limitation in enrollment results, a waiting list will be created and final admittance is at the discretion of the Administrative Team of the school.

TUITION

 

Ohio Valley Voices tuition for the 2008-09 school year is:

  • Discovery Center  (3 to 5 year olds):  $26,500
  • Learning Center (5 to 8 year olds):$26,500
  • Family Center

       

      • Parent Infant session: (birth to 17 months) per session $75
      • Toddler 5 half day program: (18 months to 3 years) $16,000
      • Summer School Program: $ 750
      • After School Tutoring:
      • Before and after school program:

 

FINANCIAL AID

 

Financial aid is available based on need.  Families are required to fill out a form and submit it to a private agency which will make a recommendation to Ohio Valley Voices Board’s Financial Aid Committee.  The committee will determine the amount of financial assistance available for the family. Ohio Valley Voices has established, in collaboration with White Castle, the White Castle Scholarship Fund.
