MISSION STATEMENTAt Ohio Valley Voices, our mission is to teach young, deaf children to speak and to understand when others speak to them.
EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHYWe believe that deaf children can learn to speak. For deaf children to learn to speak a program must focus on teaching spoken language throughout the day and children must rely on spoken language for communication. We believe that children have an innate desire to learn about the world, to understand that world, and make sense of it. At Ohio Valley Voices, children grow in an environment that supports strong instructional programs, competent teachers, and involved parents.
HISTORYOhio Valley Voices was formed in 1999 by a group of local parents with deaf children. They knew that an oral education could give their children many more opportunities, but no oral program existed anywhere in the region. Ohio Valley Voices leased space from the Montgomery Presbyterian Church until purchasing our new home in Loveland in 2006.
